There’s a new trailer for the Carrie remake, and it looks pretty good.
It seems that the remake is playing it even darker than the original, which wasn’t exactly a sunny rom-com to begin with. Also, Chloe Moretz (a.k.a. Hit-Girl from Kick-Ass) has turned into a really impressive actress. I loved the hell out of Let Me In, another horror remake–this one of the Swedish Let The Right One In. I wouldn’t be surprised if Moretz’s role in this remake had a lot to do with the critical acclaim for her role in that other remake.

I liked Let Me In although it did give me serious flashbacks to the 6th grade.
One of Chloe Moretz’s first big roles was as the North American voice actress of Darby, the little girl star of the “Winnie the Pooh & Tigger Too!” tv series. My oldet daughter was into that show in a big way, naming her favorite stuffed dog after the dog on the show and insisting — with all the righteous indignation a four-year old can muster — that HER name was Darby. Had half the kids in daycare thinking it was too.
Chloe Moretz’s voice has a distinctive sound too it, and my daughter did a spot-on impersonation of it… Which made hearing her famous “Okay you c***s… Let’s see what you can do now!” line more than a little weird for me.
So when they remade Let The Right One In, they did it as a horror movie? Because the original was pretty much just an awkward/cute romance.
A remake? Hmz… I don’t know. Carrie was the first King-horror I watched (illegally, because my mother didn’t agree). Am a fan ever since!
