Today is my birthday, so I’ll call this one a birthday gift because it arrived in the mail this afternoon.
It’s called The Art of Love Death + Robots, and it showcases the artwork for all the episodes from the three seasons of LD+R on Netflix. My contributions to Season 1 were “Shape-shifters” and “Lucky 13”, as seen below.
It was pretty wild to see the stories take shape on the screen and watch someone else’s interpretation of my work. (It’s mind-blowing that dozens of people worked on those animated episodes for six months or more, when each of those stories took me maybe a week or two to write.) And I could definitely get used to seeing my name in the credits.
That’s great – congratulations! I’ve enjoyed your writing and the LD+R series – I caught the connection with Lucky Thirteen but missed it on Shapeshifters. I think I’ll go back and rewatch both.
I like the fact that you pay attention to both the science and what I’d call the military sociology, or maybe anthropology. I served in the Marine Corps for twenty years, and your military scenes rang true to me.
A belated Happy Birthday, and congrats again. Keep up the good writing. I just followed you on Goodreads, too.
What a coincidence!! I watched both episodes several times and liked them very very much. Today was the first time I didn’t skip the credits and was surprised to see your name. I came straight here to see if I could get more information about it and look what I found! The very first post was a winner
Thank you so much for all these adventures you’re taking us. Love love love all of them!
Tres cool! And happy birthday.
Happy birthday!
Hi, Marko! Wow, I had no idea about the LD+R on Netflix. I’ll have to check it out, and will look for your episodes. That is way cool! Congratulations! And am wishing you a very Happy Birthday! Am just starting Centers of Gravity. Love it. This has been my favorite series – have enjoyed it immensely. Very sad to see it end, but looking forward to see what you come up with next. A heartfelt thank you for your writing.
Happy b’day, Writer!
