Coffee in Space podcast interview

I recently did an interview with S. Daniel Smith over at the Coffee in Space podcast. You can check it out here if you want to hear me talk about various Frontlines and Palladium Wars-related things, my writing process, and various other subjects.

(Side note–I’ve been at this for almost ten years, and in that time, I’ve given lots of interviews, including places like BBC World Service and NPR. I like giving interviews. I want to think I’m a pretty good guest because I tend to talk a lot. But I still don’t like listening to my own voice or watching myself on video.)

I was on the shortlist for the Dragon Award in the military SF category, but alas–I didn’t win. That honor went to Savage Wars by Jason Anspach and Nick Cole, so congratulations to them. (Congratulations also to my friend John Scalzi, who won the Dragon Award for Best SF Novel with The Last Emperox.)

I’m still at work on CITADEL while trying to stay on top of the rest of my commitments and keeping my head above water. 2020 sure turned out to be a peach of a year.(I want to apologize to 2016 for having called it the WORST YEAR EVER. Sorry, 2016…I was young and naive.)

Interview with the local newspaper

My local newspaper, the Valley News, interviewed me a few days ago, and you can read the whole thing here. It’s a very good piece that stays true to the facts, and I enjoyed sitting for the questions (with journalist Sarah Earle) and the pictures (with photographer Rick Russell) very much.
